Sample Letter Regarding Cuts to Museum, Aquarium and Zoo
Dear Governor Rell:
I am writing to urge you to please reconsider your budget cuts which zero out all state funding to the Beardsley Zoo, The Discovery Museum and Planetarium and the Maritime Aquarium.
These non-profit institutions are significant science education resources for our children and contribute to 110,000 tourism related jobs and millions of dollars in tourism income. For both reasons, they are critical to our state’s future economic recovery.
These entities are put at great risk by the budget cuts. If sacrificed, they can never be replaced.
I urge you to fully restore the funding for these tourist and educational resources to your budget.
Sincerely,

Sample Letter Regarding Library Program Cuts
Dear Governor Rell:
I am writing to urge you to restore your significant budget cuts to library programs In these challenging economic times, we cannot afford to cut our library services which are tremendous educational resources for our children and are also in heavy demand by residents, who are searching for jobs and can’t afford their own internet services or computers.
These drastic cuts to library programs interfere with our access to valuable educational resources. For all of these reasons, I strongly oppose these new budget cuts and ask you to restore the funding to our libraries.
