Burroughs Cornhole Tournament

You may know the game as Cornhole or Bag-O.

You may have seen it played in stadium parking lots before a football game.

It is huge in many parts of the country and has become a very popular game in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport where Burroughs is located.

Now it is time to play Cornhole for a Cause - to support the Burroughs Youth & Family Programs!

Join in the fun on Saturday May 22nd. Sign-in & practice at 10:30am. First toss at 11:30am.

Get ready to roam the Streets of Black Rock!  Saturday, December 5th.  To participate you must pre-register & pay online at www.BurroughsCC.org  by December 1!  Sign-in between 12-12:45pm at the Black Rock Tavern.  21+ is a must.   $20 includes an event t-shirt & food at each restaurant.  Drink Specials will be offered.   Wear the craziest, most festive Holiday Sweater you can find! Like most kids, the children in the programs at Burroughs look forward to the holidays.  However, many of their families are struggling to make ends meet in this difficult economy so gifts are tough to come by.  Can you help make the holidays a whole lot brighter for these great kids?

Looking for Volunteers!

 Do you have a special skill you would like to share with a small group of kids at a community center in Bridgeport?   Burroughs Community Center is looking for individuals to volunteer with our 5^th-8^th graders from 4/4:30-5:30PM any week day.

Going shopping sometime soon for back to school supplies for your kids?   How would you like to add a couple items to the shopping list for a Burroughs kid?  Our 5th-8th grade After School members will be heading back to school at the end of the month and they could use some help!  We are looking for:
 
Bookbags, Folders, Pens, Notebooks, Calculators, Markers, Pencils, Loose-leaf Paper, Binders, Crayons, Erasers, Index Cards, etc.
