Burroughs Community Center Receives Grant from The Fairfield County Community Foundation for Summer Travel Program

This year 25 students will spend seven days in California focusing on “the immigrant experience”. The documentary chronicles John Fabrizi's years as the Mayor of Bridgeport and will be shown on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 7:00 P.M.
The Quick Start Language Center is now open at Burroughs Community Center!
May 12, 2008 by Laura Magnotta commentThe Quick Start Language Center allows community members to learn a language at their own pace, on their schedule using laptop computers and Pimsleur software… for FREE! 14 languages are available for English speakers including Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Italian, German and more. English is available for Spanish and Portuguese speakers.
Update on Black Rock Library
April 8, 2008 by admin commentAn update on the status of Black Rock Library will be presented by City Librarian Scott Hughes and architect Mark Halstead at our next membership meeting to be held this Thursday, April 10th, 7 PM at the Burroughs Community Center. Other items on the agenda include public safety initiatives, lighthouse stabilization efforts, Black Rock Day planning and of course a social complete with refreshments immediately following the meeting.
