Burroughs Freezin' for a Reason

What do you get when you combine 60+ courageous souls, 2 swans, 38 degree water, a light snow, the Bridgeport Police Dive team, and more than 600 generous people?
You get the first annual Burroughs "Freezin' for a Reason"!
Last Saturday, more than 60 people took a dip in the frigid waters of LI Sound to collect pledges and donations made by their co-workers, neighbors and friends. Their brave dip in the Sound resulted in more than $53,000 being raised to support the programs and activities that take place at the Burroughs Community Center and benefit so many families and children from the community!
Burroughs would like to thank all the plungers, donors, volunteers and businesses that made the event so much fun and such a success.
