One community workshops is currently scheduled:
• Saturday, August 4th "Analysis and Visioning" – from 8:30 am to 12:30 p.m.: Black Rock Arts Center
Several other workshops are in the planning stages
On Monday, July 9th, the Black Rock Neighborhood Revitalization Zone Committee selected officers to lead the effort for Black Rock’s future. With a forum present, the committee elected three officers to lead the effort along with the Zared Group, to initiate priorities for Black Rock as part of the City of Bridgeport’s Master Plan. The Black Rock residents elected were:
President: Lori Baker
Vice President: Kristine Demarco
Recording Secretary: John M. Lee
All of Black Rock will be tuning in to ABC at 9 PM on Sunday, December 9 to see the TV movie, "For One More Day" which was filmed in part, on Fayerweather Terrace over the summer.

Lt. Santora of the Bridgeport Police Department has reminded us that crimes do increase during the holiday season and we need to do all we can in protect ourselves. Please remember not to leave any gifts, packages or valuables in our cars. Also, please lock your cars and homes.
Be alert and call the Police if you see any suspicious activity. Please report any information on activity to your Street Captain or Area Coordinator as well.
Recent Update: Christmas Carol lyrics attached. $20 donation for a Luminary Kit for each kit includes 10 luminary bags and candles. Display and light the luminaries outside of your home just before 5 pm on Sunday December 23rd then join the Harborview Market Wassail Party and Christmas Caroling 5-6 pm Sunday December 23rd.
The Black Rock Community Council is sponsoring our community's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Wassail Party. Come join in on the holiday fun as we light our neighborhood tree, sing carols and wait for a special visit from Santa himself!

The Wassail Party we take place at the SS Norden Club at 4 Seabright Avenue immediately after the Tree Lighting.
The next Black Rock Homeowners Association meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 PM at the Black Rock Art Center on Fairfield Avenue
Thanks to a hefty turnout and a long procession of excellent presentations, all five Historic District Commissioners denied Brewster Street Partners' request for a certificate of appropriateness! Everybody won! Black Rock won! So many made it happen -- whether it was sending e-mails
