You may know the game as Cornhole or Bag-O and have seen it played in stadium parking lots before a football game or at a neighborhood BBQ.  It is huge in many parts of the country and has become very popular in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport where Burroughs is located.

 Do you have a special skill you would like to share with a small group of kids at a community center in Bridgeport?   Burroughs Community Center is looking for individuals to volunteer with our 5^th-8^th graders from 4/4:30-5:30PM any week day.

Dozens of supporters will be running into the ice cold waters of Long Island Sound to help raise money for the Burroughs Community Center  ~ and we want you to join in on the fun!

The holidays are right around the corner!

Each year you make the holidays a whole lot brighter for the kids in our After School program.  We hope during this challenging time we can count on you to play Santa to one of our deserving kids.    

Join the Black Rock Community Council for its 30th Anniversary (plus two) on  Saturday September 27th for an exclusive evening at Captain's Cove Seaport from 7-11PM.

Proceeds of the celebration will benefit Burroughs Community Center!

Want to help Burroughs Community Center during the next party you throw?  We have just the way to do it!   Licensed Massage Therapist, Danielle Doonan, has offered her talents to benefit Burroughs.   Hire Danielle for your party, your guests enjoy 10-15 minute chair massages or  even table massages  and Danielle will donate 50% of her fee to the Burroughs Community Center.    Party hosts will receive big thanks from their friends as well as a $20 gift certificate towards a massage by Danielle at Serenity Chiropracti

That's why Burroughs has a Tutoring Program for our kids. So many of them want to learn, to understand and to succeed, but they need one-on-one help.

For three years the Burroughs Community Center has worked with the Tauck Foundation to offer a summer travel experience to middle school students.  This year 25 students will spend seven days in California focusing on “the immigrant experience”.  Travelers have been working towards the trip for six months with weekly sessions led by Burroughs staff.  They have benefited from team building exercises and professionally developed curriculum about the historical and
