Anti-Blight Commission Meeting on 340 Brewster - CANCELLED
October 12, 2008 by admin commentIMPORTANT UPDATE: This meeting has been cancelled due to the lack of a quorum. We do not know the new date yet. Sorry for the late notice, we were just informed.
Things are getting even more interesting! Partially due to our efforts, the Bridgeport Anti-blight Commission has asked Brewster Street Partners to appear at a hearing at noon on October 15. We will have an opportunity to speak promptly at noon, so plan to come early so you don't miss the beginning: PLACE: 30 Congress St., Bridgeport (The "Firehouse") on the 2nd or 3rd floor. (We'll post a sign.) PURPOSE: Decide whether the developers should receive maximum penalties for not repairing the roof and allowing the house to become even more of an eyesore. UNWANTED OUTCOME: The Commission could refer the case to the Condemnation Board. We need to argue that there is no reason why the house cannot be restored. WANTED OUTCOME: The developers be held accountable and be forced to restore the house -- to do what they are supposed to do. Please come! And tell your friends. Once again, Black Rock's ability to turn out large numbers of concerned citizens at meetings like this has enormous influence. We are a really great community, and if we all stick together, we are powerful! Thanks in advance for your help in preserving this historic house.
