Update 7/26/10: Recent articles in the Connecticut Post and Fairfield Citizen News stated that the train station completion date is now expected to be near the end of 2011. The Town of Fairfield has begun razing the land where the Black Rock Train Station will be built. The plans call for remediation of the land and the shoreline. In order to accomplish this, the vegetation has to be removed, the contaminated soil remediated, and then it has to be landscaped.
